On January 17, 2006, Canadore College and Ontario
Native Education Counselling Association (ONECA), signed an
articulation agreement between the Native Counsellor Training Program
(NCTP) and Canadore's Ontario Diploma (four semesters) Indigenous
Wellness and Addictions Prevention (IWAP) program.
The agreement provides NCTP graduates with the option
of continuing into post-secondary studies at Canadore, while
recognizing their past academic accomplishments". This model
reduces the amount of time and financial resources required to
complete the diploma.
This agreement has allowed us to strengthen our
partnership with the institution while providing improved
accessibility to NCTP students in Post Secondary Training Programs.
Both parties want to ensure high quality programming for Aboriginal
Students and increase retention and success rates.
For complete details of the agreement you can contact
the ONECA office at (705) 692-2999.
